Stop, Walk, and Then Run In Order To Avoid Coasting

If you want to overcome adversity, the best way is to perform, enjoy and get completely wrapped up in your goals and current task.  Work because you love what you are doing not because you are forced to do it.  It’s easy to say you are going to stay focused, but when you have no interest in either an activity or profession you are not physically capable of staying focused to the point that you are passionate about what you are doing.  Take a look around, are you accomplishing everything you want to by living each day to its fullest?  True wealth is not your monetary wealth, but rather your time.  With everyday that goes by, you lose that day.  There is nothing you can do to bring that day back.  Why not live a life you can look back on someday and say you loved it.  Have passion.  You need passion in your life.  Passion is the hunger within us that drives our vehicle.  Figure out what you love to do, and feel so much passion for it that you never need to stop for gas.

Have you sat down with yourself lately and truly asked yourself if you are doing what you love?  Life is too short and valuable to waste it just because you feel you have to make a living.  There’s not enough time to not find out what you are passionate about in life.  So implement a plan and live out your dreams.  We were all put here for a reason. Put worries aside, such as I need to make a living or I need to support my family with whatever job I can find.  If you find passion in life, making a living will find you.  If you believe you can make a difference in this world, you can make your own reality.  If you truly believe you can influence events you attend, the work you participate in and the people around you, often times you can.

Look forward to the good, not the bad.  Focus on the excitement you feel when something turns out good.  Recreate yourself and focus on developing a plan which allows you to live life according to how you want to live life, rather than how you think you must live it.  You have to walk before you can run.  Always focus on your main task at hand and not just on, “not messing up.”  Develop a plan of reaching your goals and focus on it every day.  If you let distractions get to you, you will do more harm than good.  If you stay calm, positive, and focused on the task at hand you will avoid distractions.  One of the highest purposes of our work is finding the work we were chosen to perform.

Unsuccessful people often come up with excuses as to why they are not reaching their goals or performing at high levels.  Focus on solutions to your problems rather than labeling yourself with the “I’m’s,” such as “I’m done,” or “I’m too poor” or “I’m not attractive.”  If you believe it to be true, it is as good as being true.  Successful people do not waste time playing games, but rather stay focused on what is important to them. Commit yourself; do not just wish you could achieve your goals.  Do not wait for something to wake you up.  Wake yourself up on your own.

Stay focused on developing a process to achieve your goals and then take the actions stated in your plans.  Let the hunger inside of you become exposed to you and others.  Frequently ask yourself during each day, “Is what I am doing right now getting me to where I need to be?”  Develop your inner voice.  If you do this, you will be able to stay focused on your course to success.  Don’t be afraid to talk to yourself.  You are your own best coach in life.  Keep telling yourself to stay focused on what is important and try to use as much energy on those activities.

In conclusion, you need to spend your time wisely instead of just wasting it.  The next time you tell yourself, “I’m not smart enough to tackle that project,” or “I’m not qualified enough to interview for that management position, or some other similar “I’m” that may crop up in your thinking during the day, you must have some type of immediate response to stop your mind in its tracks before you get derailed.  Try to stay calm and listen to your inner voice when difficult circumstances arise.

If you live life half-heartedly, you will look back on your life at a time when it is too late, and wonder “what if?”  What if you would have done something’s differently?  Do those things you always wanted to do now, before it is too late.
